Bird Watching Weekend allows you to learn about and identify the migratory birds that pass through the Smoke Hole area. Because of our proximity to the Dolly Sods Wilderness area, the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River, and the Monongahela National Forest, our Inn is a bird and nature lover's paradise. This event is usually held the first or second weekend in May each year.
Enjoy guided bird walks around the Inn, in the adjacent Monongahela National Forest, along the South Branch of the Potomac, and in nearby Dolly Sods Wilderness Areas. Start your weekend with wine and appetizers on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. followed by a lecture by birding expert Dr. Gary Rankin. The weekend also includes a hearty gourmet breakfast each morning, a picnic lunch and fine dining on Saturday evening.
Cost is $125.00 per person plus room charges.
