Cooking School Weekend
We are fortunate to have as our Celebrity Chef, Wayne Ross, from Denver, Colorado. I first got to know Wayne about 20 years ago, while conducting wine tastings. We became good friends over the years as Wayne and his wife Nancy share my same passions of great food, fine wine, and travel. Wayne has a very extensive wine cellar and enjoys cooking and pairing food and wine, one of his favorite pastimes.
As part of the cooking school weekend, you will spend time in the kitchen learning from Wayne, Ed, and Carol how to make some of their most popular dishes. On Friday we will make an assortment of tapas and appetizers accompanied by a wine tasting. On Saturday morning you will learn how to make scones, omelets, sleep late French toast, along with other breakfast specialties.
For lunch we will learn to make different soups, a specialty of the inn. We will also make foccacia bread, quesadillas, salads, and fresh fruit cobbler.
The afternoon session will include prepping for dinner which will be an exotic feast. You will make “drunken shrimp, chicken marsala, chocolate soufflé, garlic mashed potatoes, African vegetables, and chocolate crème brulee` topped with flamed peppermint.
A full range of massage services will be available in nearby Petersburg. Sherry Musser will offer a total spa experience including reflexology, full body massage, body scrubs facials, sauna, and hot stone massage.
So whether your interests include gourmet cooking school or pampering yourself at the spa, you will find this to be a weekend to remember. The spa services can be customized to your preferences.
The cooking school will cost $ 250.00 and will include:
- All meals, a chef jacket
- A cookbook of the most popular recipes of the North Fork Mountain Inn
- and some handy kitchen gadgets.
This special event weekend requires a two night minimum.
